GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Aritone Technologies’ InGaP GaAs Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) VCO is a fully integrated MMIC
oscillator with on-chip tuning varactor, resonator and output buffer amplifier. Optimum design and HBT technology
results in low phase-noise. The VCO’s performance is excellent over temperature and shock due to the oscillator’s
monolithic structure. Backside via hole and gold metallization process makes very good thermal performance and high
reliability.

BIAS ARRANGEMENT AND EVALUATION BOARD
For the final application, RF circuit design techniques should be properly applied.
All RF signal traces should have 50 ohms. Sufficient filled via holes should be
provided beneath the package for both RF ground and heat dissipation. RF chokes
on power supply (Vcc) and tuning voltage (Vtune) should be determined
according to each customer’s specific application.
