Grant and Eligibility Guidelines
ImpactThePalmBeaches(ITPB)advanceshighimpactphilanthropybypoolingtogethersmallerdonationsof
individualwomentocreatealargegrant,whichwillhaveahighimpactinourcommunity.Asacharitablefund
oftheCommunityFoundationforPalmBeachandMartinCounties,wefacilitatethisbyawardingatleastone
$100,000granttoanonprofitinoneofthefollowingfivefocusareas:Arts&Culture,Education,Environment,
Family,andHealth&Wellness.Thegrantrecipient(s)willbeselectedbyavoteofallITPBmembersatitsannual
meetingonNovember10afterathoroughproposalreviewprocess.
ITPBseekstofundhighimpactprojectsthat:
• Fosterchangeandhavealong-termpositiveimpact
• Arenewprogramsorexpansions/improvementsofexistingprogramsthatcanchangethewayan
organizationoracommunityoperates
• Candemonstratespecificmeasurablegoals
WhatisHighImpactPhilanthropy?
ThegoalofITPBistofundprogramsthatarevisionary,daring,takerisks,shiftconsciousness,orchangetheway
acommunityororganizationoperates.Theprogramshouldfocusontheissuefirstandtheorganization
second.Programswhichrevolvearoundinstitutionalneeds,fundraisinggoals,orthenonprofit'sinternal
organizationdonotmeetthegoalsofITPB.
GrantFocusAreas
ITPBhasidentifiedthefollowingfivefocusareasandwillappointcommitteestoreview
fundingapplicationsineachofthesecategories.
• Arts&Culture
Highimpactprogramsorinitiativesthatcultivate,develop,educate,andenhance
cultureandthearts.
• Education
Highimpactprogramsorinitiativesthatfurthereducationorimproveaccesstoeducationfor
childrenand/oradults.
• Environment
Highimpactprogramsorinitiativesthatrestore,preserve,revitalize,orenhancethe
facilitiesornaturalresourcesofourcommunity,includingthosethatencourageresearch,public
awareness,andeducationrelatingtotheenvironmentandconservationofournaturalresources.
• Family
Highimpactprogramsorinitiativesthatstrengthenandenhancethelivesofchildrenand
familieslivinginourcommunity.
• Health&Wellness
Highimpactprogramsorinitiativesthatimprovethephysicaland/ormentalhealth
andwellnessofpeoplelivinginourcommunity.
TheGrantProcess
Throughourpartner,CommunityFoundationforPalmBeachandMartinCounties,ITPBsendsnoticesofthe
availabilityofourgrantstohundredsofnonprofitagenciesandinvitesthemtosubmitgrantproposals.The
ITPBGrantsCommitteeextensivelyreviewsandratestheseproposals.Sitevisitsareconductedasneeded.
BaseduponfinalrecommendationsoftheGrantsCommitteeandapprovalbytheCommunityFoundationfor
PalmBeachandMartinCountiesBoardofDirectors,theITPBinvitesfinaliststotheITPBannualmeeting.Atthe
annualmeeting,thefinalistsmakeabriefpresentationabouttheirhighimpactproject.Avoteisthentakenand
afinaldecisionismadeimmediatelyfollowingthepresentation.Thatdecisionisfinal.
ApplicationDetails
ITPBconsidersgrantrequestsintheamountof$100,000.ALetterofIntent(LOI)mustbesubmittedthrough
theCommunityFoundationforPalmBeachandMartinCounties'onlinegrantcenterwhichcanbefoundat
http://account.yourcommunityfoundation.org.Thefirststepintheapplicationprocessistocreateyour
OrganizationProfile.ForinstructionsonsettingupyourOrganizationProfileforthefirsttime,pleasevisitHow
toCreateYourOrganizationProfile.OrganizationssubmittinganLOImaybeinvitedtosubmitafullproposal.
Eligibility
ToqualifyforanITPBgrant,anapplicantmustbeatax-exemptorganizationunderSection501(c)(3)
oftheInternalRevenueCodeanddesignatedassuchforatleast19months.
Additionally,theapplicantmust:
• SubmitaLetterofIntentand,ifinvited,afullproposalforaprojectorprogram,whichisimplementedin
andservestheresidentsofPalmBeachCountywithintheboundariesofLakeWorthRoadnorthtothe
MartinCountyline/easttotheoceanandwesttotheGlades.Thegrantfundsmustbeusedinthis
geographicareaonly.
• Collaboratewithatleastoneothernon-profitorganization.
• Organizationsmustusethefullamountofthegrantwithin18monthsoftheawarddate.
• Theprojectmaybeanewprogram,anexpansionofanexistingprogram,ormaybeacollaborativeeffort
ofseveralagencies.
Aswecontinuetogrowandevolve,ITPB,reservestherighttochangeitseligibilitycriteriainfutureyears.

• Fundraisingcampaignsorevents

• Bridgefundingorinterimfinancing
• Partisanorpoliticalactivities
• Legalexpenses
• Travelexpenses
• Loans
• Grantstoindividuals
• Grantstoprivatefoundations
• Religiousorganizationsforreligiouspurposes
TherecipientofanITPB$100,000grantwillnotbeeligibletoreapplyforanotherITPBgrantforatleastthree3
years(i.e.,theorganizationselectedin2016maynotreapplyuntil2019).
ITPBdoesnotdiscriminateonthebasisofrace,religion,age,sexualpreference,ornationalorigin.Applicantsfor
grantsfromITPBmustholdsimilarstandards.Competitivegrantapplicationsfromorganizationsknowntohave
discriminatorypolicieswillnotbeconsidered.

TheCommunityFoundationforPalmBeachandMartinCountiesisoneofFlorida’slargestcommunity
foundations.Thenonprofitorganizationhasprovidednearly$110millioningrantsandscholarshipsoverits40yearhistory.Atitscore,theCommunityFoundationisanorganizationcreatedwithgiftsfromgenerouspeople
committedtolocalcauses.Fordonors,theFoundationservesasaphilanthropicadvisor.Forthecommunity,the
Foundationservesasagrantmakerandacivicleader.Throughthesupportofitsdonorsandfundholders,the
Foundationhasbeenabletoaddresssomeofthecommunity’smostpressingneeds,includinghunger,housing

**Acapitalcampaignisdefinedasanefforttoraisesignificantfundsforaspecificprojectincluding,butnot
limitedto,theacquisition,construction,orrenovationofabuilding,orforthepurchaseofessential
equipment.Anygrantrequestsforfundingthestrategicplanning,fundraisingandmarketingeffortsof
acapitalprojectwillnotbeallowed.Impact100PalmBeachCountywillpermitgrantrequests
forcapitalprojectsthatmeetthefollowingcriteria:thespecificuseofgrantfundsforacapitalprojectare
clearlyidentifiedanditemizedintheLOI;thegrantfundswillnotgotowardanymarketingand/orfundraising
effortsofthecapitalproject;thecapitalprojectspecifiedintheLetterofInquirymustbescheduledfor
completionwithin18monthsyearsofreceivingthegrant;andthegrantrequestmeetsallcurrentandstandard
ITPBgrantcriteria.
