SPECIFICATIONS:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Flex-Loc vibration proof lampholder is a self positioning device for
superior operation of all medium bi-pin fluorescent lamps. It is designed to
firmly cup around and grip both sides of each pin, holding the lamp into
place, even when subject to extreme vibration. Lamps snap into place and
are locked into the lampholder by applying light pressure to the back of each
lampholder -- there is no need to twist or turn lamps upon installation. Lamp
movement is controlled by end pressure exerted from a heavy duty internal
spring, giving a flexing action that reduces lamp movement and maintains a
normal operating lampholder position perpendicular to the mounting surface.
CONSTRUCTION:
The lampholder housing is injection molded from high strength, white
unsaturated polyester. The back is covered with stiff, insulating vulcanized fiber
board. Terminals are die formed of tempered brass. Brass terminal screws
assure a positive connection. The heavy duty internal spring and base plate
are formed of zinc plated steel.
ELECTRICAL:
The Flex-Loc lampholder is Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. Listed for 600 watt,
660 volt operation.
MOUNTING:
Flex-Loc lampholders are mounted on a base of at least .036 gauge metal to
support the flexing action. Luminaires equipped with Flex-Loc lampholders are
1" longer than luminaires equipped with twist lock lampholders.
APPLICATIONS:
Flex-Loc lampholders are ideal for use where exposed to vibration. Task
lighting on machinery and presses, overhead cranes, ships and marine areas,
loading and dock areas to name a few. Flex-Loc lampholders have been
tested and approved for Seismic Zone 4 and Shock Zone A installations in
accordance with United States Military Specification MIL-S-4456 and Lowry Air
Force Base WS-107A-2, specification 25-066, Eng. 59-73, specification 39.
