Responsibilities:
Perform assigned tasks in manufacturing plant
•Perform assigned tasks of chemical operators, bundle fabricators, machinists
and inspectors engaged in the production or processing of membrane products.
•Perform tasks to prepare product for shipment worldwide
•Perform additional tasks as requested to support fiber production as needed.
Setup, operate and maintain production equipment
•Follows specifications, drawings, job orders, work instructions, recipes and
procedures to produce specified products according to the MEDAL ISO 9000
quality system
•Installs fixtures, tooling and other parts for production machine setup to produce
products from a variety of materials, according to work orders and specifications.
•Aligns and adjusts machine settings, and synchronizes speed of machine
sections to deliver material and form product
•Activates machinery and equipment, adjusts set points to control machine
functions, and observes operation of machine and product to detect and
diagnose cause of faulty operation; reports malfunctions to supervisor or leader
•Keeps machinery and equipment clean, replaces worn parts and performs
preventive maintenance as required
•Records product information on data sheets or computer database to complete
work order
•Moves material to work area and loads into machine for processing
Inspect product, setup and adjustment of equipment.
•Inspects incoming materials and parts as per inspection procedures as needed.
•Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
•Routes product samples for quality control inspection according to procedure.
•Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that equipment operation
conforms to production or processing standards.
Meet or exceed the company’s safety standards.
•Be fully trained and follow all safety procedures for the operation and use of
equipment.
•Maintains clean and organized work area
•Assure proper disposal of waste materials
•Full participation in Company safety programs
•Comply with all Company policies including safety, operating procedures,
quality, attendance and proper on-the-job conduct.
Support the training or cross training of employees new to work area
Requirements:
Skill Set/Knowledge/Expertise
•Good hands-on mechanical ability with a general knowledge of machines and
tools
•General knowledge of computer operation in an industrial environment
•A self-starter who can manage workloads with minimum supervision
•Good communication and interpersonal skills
•2-3 years experience in an industrial environment
Physical Requirements
•Lifting up to 50 pounds of materials, supplies, tools, fixtures and equipment from
floor to elevated positions
•Reaching and manipulating controls on equipment
•Perform work activities above ground level and occasionally in physically
confined locations
•Perform work activities with production chemicals using required personal
protective equipment
•Occasionally perform outdoor work activities in all weather conditions
•Able to operate a forklift and other material moving equipment
•Ability to perform job duties at all times of the day within a 24/7 plant operation
Educational
•High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required; additional education
(Associate degree) is highly desirable.
