Professional Experience : Projects

1990 – 1991
Phase 1 of Victoria and Alfred Waterfront project (R63 million total capital
expenditure), which included 15 building projects (R28 million capex) and 9
infrastructure contracts (R35 million capex in the historic Pierhead area.

1991 – 1993
Phase 2 of Victoria and Alfred Waterfront project (R145 million total capital
expenditure), which included the 26 500m2 Victoria Wharf shopping and
entertainment centre (R105 million capex) and 7 infrastructure contracts
(R40 million capex).

1993 – 1997
Phase 3 of Victoria and Alfred Waterfront project (R526 million total capital
expenditure), which included an 18 000 m2 extension to Victoria Wharf (R192
million capex), a 329-room international deluxe hotel (R250 million capex),
marine infrastructure contracts (R35 million capex) for shore protection works
in Granger Bay and flooding the New Basin and three other infrastructure
contracts (R37 million capex).

1998 – 1999
Phase 4 of Victoria and Alfred Waterfront project (estimated capital value
R168 million), which included the Granger Bay Court and Marina Centre office
projects with a combination rentable area of 9 800 m2 (R77 million capex), the
refurbishment of the King’s Warehouse and development of the Food Court,
Victoria Wharf (R20 million capex) and the West Quay office project
(estimated capex R71 million) with a rentable area of 7400 m2.

1999 – 2001
Phase 5 of Victoria and Alfred Waterfront project (estimated capital value
R450 million), which includes the first stage of the mixed-use development in
the Clocktower Precinct comprising of 23 000 m² corporate head office for the
Board of Executors (estimated capital value R207 million), 975-bay parking
garage (estimated capital value R74 million), a 5 000 m² retail and restaurant
complex (estimated capital value R54 million), 3 000 m² offices (estimated
capital value R38 million), 2 500 m² fishing/light industrial uses (estimated
capital value R5 million), Robben Island Gateway and ferry terminal (estimated
capital value R25 million) and five infrastructure contracts (estimated capital
value R47 million).


of security and risk orientated organisations.
Consultant to Sukema Integrated Solutions (Pty) Ltd (CHASE Electronic
Security / Maintenance Incident Management Systems).
Consultant to University Western Cape, University of Stellenbosch and Cape
Peninsula University of Technology. Safety, Security and Risk Assessments.
Inductor for Intra-Train Health, Safety and Fire Training.
Did the original 2010 Operational Plan for the V&A Waterfront including traffic
management, pedestrian movements, emergency and first aid stations
security manpower requirements.
Represented the V&A Waterfront on the following committees for the 2010
Soccer World Cup;

Member of the new Green Point Stadium Safety & Security committee.
Member of the South African Police Services Operational planning team.
Member of the City of Cape Town Disaster Risk Management Committee.
Member of the City of Cape Town Traffic Management Planning committee.

Resolved the Sedan Taxi situation in the V&A Waterfront through consultation
with Provincial Minister of Transport, the City Council, The License Operating
Board, the Western Cape Metered Taxi Association and elected members
representing the sedan taxi operators on the various ranks.
April 2011; Consulted with the La Caudon Waterfront Port Louis Mauritius in
regard to parking management, equipment and management systems.
Consulting

Advisor to Mauritius Commercial Bank on waterfront project at Caudan
Peninsula, Port Louis.
Role was to advice on all operational
recommendations on project planning, phasing and implementation. Project
completed at end of 1996.

Acted as advisor to Tyger Waterfront (Pty) Ltd on Phase 1 of the Tyger
Waterfront project in Bellville, City of Tygerberg (South Africa) in 1997. Role
was to advise on all operational issues, security and environmental health
and to make recommendations on project planning, phasing and
implementation.

Acted as advisor to The Berkeley Festival Waterfront Company Limited and
Lordland International on the Gunwharf Quays project in Portsmouth, England
in 1997. Role was to advise on all operational issues, security and
environmental health and to make recommendations on project planning,
phasing and implementation.

Advisor to Gabon West Africa Waterfront Development. Role was to advise
on all operational issues, security and environmental health and to make
recommendations on project planning, phasing and implementation.

Soccer World Cup 2010: Advisor to various committees Disaster Risk
Management, SAPS Operational Planning committee, wrote Operational Plan
for Waterfront for 2010 SCW

Consultant to Sukema Integrated Solutions from 2008 - present. Role is to
advise on numerous projects and assist in Sales and Marketing.
