Precision Extrusion

With over 25 years experience in the thermoplastics extrusion industry, our team is composed of experts in thermoplastics design, engineering and manufacturing. Skilled machine operators, many with over 20 years of experience, work closely with quality control personnel to assure each customer's product is produced to specification.

Quality Assurance

Our hands on approach to quality is crucial in assuring each customer's needs are met, no matter how different the application or rigorous the requirements. Being a custom extruder, each of our customer's needs are unique. Yet, with a strong core foundation of quality procedures, we are flexible enough to fine tune our process to your requirements. Roving inspectors constantly monitor product quality at the time it is produced and work closely with manufacturing personnel to assure your requirements are being met. Extrusion and fabrication personnel, trained in statistical quality techniques, are constantly monitoring the key characteristics of the product.

Engineering & Die Design

Part art, part science, the design of cost efficient extrusion dies is a team effort combining the skills of production personnel, die machinists, die development specialists and engineers. Their ideas are translated into drawings on our Computer Aided

Design System which sends machining instructions directly to our state-of-the-art wire EDM.

Die Making & Development

Modern hi-tech Die Shop utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD) to design dies and create programs that control the wire

Electro Discharge Machining (EDM) of profile dies. This makes it possible to build more complex dies with greater accuracy than is possible using conventional milling machines. Development Engineers test run dies and order changes as needed to obtain profiles meeting the customer specifications. Dies made with EDM require fewer development trials and make it possible to produce parts to closer tolerances.

Custom Subassembly & Special Packaging

Extruded parts can be packed with other parts and instruction sheets supplied by the customer to make kits ready for shipment from the customers' inventory. Special protective packing for large parts, awkward shapes or export handling can be designed and fabricated as required to assure safe delivery.

Pre-cut and pre-coiled to slip over HO and VHO lamps, our Heat Sink Screen helps dissipate heat and protect your fluorescent lamps from shattering.

Our clear polycarbonate tube guards complete the lamp protection package. Tube guards are available in various wall thicknesses and outside diameters and come with black end caps.

Tube Guards Definition & Application

Tube Guards: Cobotex tube guards are manufactured from virgin raw materials such as LEXAN, Acrylic or Polycarbonate mixed with UV inhibitor to ensure high clarity, clear tubes that will not yellow with time, featuring high tensile strength over a wide temperature range and high impact strength even at low temperatures. Our tubes provide maximum protection against the inherent dangers of broken glass and sparks from a shattered fluorescent lamp by retaining the shattered glass and phosphors within it. TECHNICAL INFORMATION :

Polycarbonate tube guards easily slips over fluorescent lamps to provide an economical and efficient safeguard for employees, customers, products and equipment. The tube guards prevent shattered fluorescent bulb from showering it’s surrounding with broken glass and phosphor, from contaminating products and equipment and injuring people while making the cleanup much easier and safer. It also protects exposed lamps against dirt, dust, bugs and flying insects.

These sleeves are used in Military facilities, Libraries, Department Stores, Schools, Art Galleries, Museums, Hospitals, Supermarkets, Food

Processing Plants, and other areas where contaminations may occur due to lamp breakage.

Color tubes are made of high quality virgin raw materials compounded the appropriate color eliminating streams and bubbles in the tubes.

Colored tube guards make an economical alternative to expensive custom lighting designs using neon or gels for mood lighting and color accents.

Standard Colors: Clear, Amber, Red, Green, Aqua Blue, Purple, Pink, and Yellow.

Ultraviolet Filtering: UV Filters eliminate virtually all UV radiation (over 99%) as it's composition effectively resist ultraviolet light emission and thereby retard photochemical degradation in textiles, water colors, historical documents, works of art, and other sensitive display items. Made of UV-filtering clear polycarbonate (approximately 1/32in thick) having 0% transmittance below 385 nanometers. Special UV Tube Guards for fluorescent lighting are used often in museums, art galleries, libraries, and other areas where the prevention of UV degradation is critical.

End Caps: Manufactured of heat resistant polypropylene plastic, the caps holds the lamp in place inside the tube even if broken. It will also prevent the tubes from falling and will retain shattered glass.

Heat Sink Screens: When using high-output lamps it is recommended to use Heat Sink Screens. High output lamps such as HO (800 MA) and VHO (1500 MA) do create excessive heat at the end of the lamp. The metal mesh eliminates the deterioration of the plastic sleeve by spreading the excess heat of the lamp providing longer lamp and tube life.

DATA SHEET ON ULTRA VIOLET FILTERING TUBE-GUARDS

ULTRAVIOLET FILTERING: UV Filters eliminate virtually all UV radiation (over 99%) as it's composition effectively resist ultraviolet light emission and thereby retard photochemical degradation in textiles, water colors, historical documents, works of art, and other sensitive display items. Made of UV-filtering clear polycarbonate (approximately 1/32in thick) having 0% transmittance below 395 nanometers identified by

"UVA". Special UVA Tube Guards for fluorescent lighting are used often in museums, art galleries, libraries, and other areas where the prevention of UV degradation is critical.

Our "UVA-PC" filtering Golden color polycarbonate (approximately .025 inch thick) having 0% transmittance below 480 nanometers. Curve could also be reformed upon request. These sleeves are used in: Medical and Pharmaceutical Laboratories, Food & Pasteurization Processing

Plants, Semiconductor laboratories, Military facilities and labs, Libraries, Hospitals, and other areas where contaminations may occur due to lamp breakage or where the prevention of UV degradation is critical.
