President - Christine Cabrera
Christine Cabrera is a lead transmission calibration engineer for global front wheel drive applications at
General Motors. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Bradley University in
2008, and has been working in the Powertrain Division of GM for over five years. Christine has been an
active SWE member since 2003, participating in various roles throughout the Society from Collegiate
Section President, Region Collegiate Communications Editor, Detroit Section Representative, to Region H
Senator, as well as her involvement in multiple national committees.
Christine will be running for SWE Detroit President, and plans to continue making the section a strong,
inclusive, professional resource in the engineering community.
President Elect #1 - Jessica Engwis Swan
Jessica Engwis joined SWE in 2008 once she began her professional career at General Motors as a
Software Engineer. She was involved with the Girls’ Engineering Exploration for 2 years as an activity
lead and then 2 years as GEE Co-Lead. In FY13, she held the position of VP Outreach and is now the
Treasurer for FY14. Jessica holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in
Spanish from Michigan Technological University (2008) as well as a Master of Science Degree in
Software Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (2013). She is excited to run for both presidentelect and treasurer for FY15 in order to gain more experience with SWE finances and the society in
general.
When not working or volunteering with SWE, Jessica can be found cooking, mountain biking and
enjoying life with her new husband Joshua and dog Snoops.
President Elect #2 - Kristie Boskey
Kristie Boskey is a Senior Program Manager at MAHLE Powertrain, LLC in Farmington Hills, responsible
for delivering high-quality technical solutions to a broad range of powertrain markets. Ms. Boskey is a
dedicated and established change motivator, recognized for crafting and implementing actionable
solutions. She is a recognized and proven leader, focused on organic growth, transparency and
efficiency. She has successfully turned around underperforming teams, and instituted cultural change,
enforcing lean practices.
Prior to joining MAHLE Powertrain, Ms. Boskey was a Technical Intelligence Officer for the United States
Government in Langley, Virginia. During her four-year tenure, she had a significant role in leading topsecret national security projects. She started her career with Magna Intier Seating in Novi, MI where she
was a key contributor to the Chrysler Stow-N-Go seat concept and production as a co-op student (20032007). She currently coaches the St. Catherine of Siena Academy High School varsity tennis team.
Ms. Boskey is a certified Program Management Professional (PMP), with Bachelor of Science degrees in
both Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Kettering University.
Kristie Boskey is actively involved in SWE-Detroit as the current Vice President of Membership. In this
role, Ms. Boskey has worked to better understand the needs and interests of the Detroit membership
base. She instituted a dropped member survey for feedback on areas of interest or requested changes
to the organization for those whose membership has lapsed. As a direct result from member feedback,
she held the first Career Fair in February 2014 with ten major metro-Detroit area companies, including
Ford and General Motors, among others.
In 2014, she was the Keynote Speaker at WSU’s FutureSWE, an event tailored to high school students
interested in pursuing engineering. She has been invited as guest speaker for Kettering University’s
collegiate SWE program on multiple occasions, participated in Wayne State University’s speed
mentoring event. Last year, Ms. Boskey was the Speaker Coordinator for the 2013 Professional
Development Conference.

such as Outreach Chair, Event Chair and Vice President. She was a Kettering University Woman of the
Year finalist in 2007, and the founder and president of the Green Engineering Organization on campus
2005-2007. She won the CIA Exceptional Performance Award in 2009 and CIA Acquisition Excellence
Award in 2010. She has been recognized by MAHLE Industries NAFTA as a Top Performer and Future
Leader in 2013-2014.
VP of Professional Development #1 - Vivette El Fawal
Vivette was first introduced to engineering through the FEMME program, an engineering camp for
fourth to eighth grade girls; she decided to become an engineer in seventh grade. She pursued her
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Materials Science at Brown University; she joined her local SWE
chapter freshman year. She embarked on her career at General Motors in 2010 through SWE and has
had various roles in automatic transmissions. It was her GM SWE mentor that told her about the Detroit
SWE networking events where she discovered Girls’ Exploring Engineer (GEE). During her time leading
GEE, she grew the planning committee by 50%, kept a 75% retention rate and increased the budget.
Vivette has attended many professional development events over the last four years and has been
impressed by SWE’s dedication of growing its members. She is running for VP of Professional
Development to help SWE continue serving its members.

VP of Outreach - Anne Dancy
Anne Dancy has been active in SWE since she joined at Michigan Technological University in 2008. At
the collegiate level, she held elected leadership positions including President, Vice President,
Community & Campus Committee Chair, and Advisory Board Student liaison. There she helped to
double the membership of the collegiate section, increase community involvement, connect diversity
and professional groups for greater impact, and secure the bid for the 2014 Region H Conference which
was held at Michigan Tech in February 2014. After graduating, she became involved with the SWE
Detroit Professional section as a mentor and co-chair of Girls’ Engineering Exploration (GEE), the
outreach event to introduce underprivileged girls to the STEM fields. With her co-chairs, Anne gave an
interactive presentation about GEE at the Region H Conference and plans to present it at the next
societal conference. She also hosted an outreach event for members to make Valentine cards and
deliver them to the local nursing home. Anne is passionate about teaching girls about engineering and
science and giving back to her community by building relationships. In her free time, she volunteers as a
Youth Leader at her local church where she mentors a small group of young adults on a weekly basis,
and she enjoys running marathons (more miles=more chocolate, right?!).
Anne holds a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Michigan Tech and will receive her
Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University this May. She works at Chrysler
Group LLC in a rotational, leadership development program called the Chrysler Institute of Engineering
(CIE) program. Her current rotation is in Powertrain as an AWD/4WD Systems Development Engineer.
Anne is running for VP of Outreach because she wants to become more involved with the section and
coordinate the outreach programming. She is excited to engage new and existing members in the
section’s hallmark outreach events while also trying out new initiatives and projects that target needs in
the Detroit area in the upcoming year!
VP of Membership - Rosa Bushkuhl
Rosa Bushkuhl is currently the SWE Detroit Professional Development Events Chair and has planned
several new events, including an "Engineering for Good" event and a Professional Development Mini
Series with Nissan. She has previously served as the Special Events Chair, organizing the SWE holiday
potluck and the awards banquet. She was active in the collegiate section at U of M where she served as
the Summer Engineering Exploration (SEE) camp co-chair, SWE/TBP Career Fair Co-Director, and
Industry Director.
Rosa is running for VP of Membership where she hopes to identify opportunities to attract new
members and increase involvement of existing members. She looks forward to working with her
committee to help create new events and improve existing events that appeal to a range of members.
She also looks forward to working with other committees to organize successful joint events.
Rosa is a Mechanical Engineer for the University of Michigan's Architecture, Engineering and
Construction (AEC) group where she is involved with the planning and design of construction projects for
campus buildings, including laboratories, offices and student housing. She graduated with a Bachelor of
Science and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and is a
licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Michigan.
Secretary - Manouela (Manni) Anguelova
Manouela has been a SWE member since 2012 when she became involved on a collegiate level. After
graduating from Oakland University in December of 2012, Manouela became a professional SWE
member of the Detroit Section. Manouela graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
from Oakland University and is currently applying to graduate school for a Master’s Degree in Electrical
Engineering to further her education.
Within her first year as a professional member of SWE in FY14, Manouela acquired the position of
Electronics Communications Chair. In this position, she updated the SWE Detroit website, maintained
mailing lists, and attended related meetings. In the coming FY15 year, Manouela is running for Secretary
of the SWE Detroit Section while also retaining her position as the Electronics Communications Chair.
For FY15, Manouela is looking forward to expanding and improving the Electronics Communications
Chair position. She is planning to explore additional outlets to promote the Detroit Section further and
provide necessary information to current members as fast and conveniently as possible.
Manouela is currently employed by TRW Automotive as an Electronics Hardware Product Engineer. She
has been at TRW for 9 months where she works in Passive Safety - Satellites and Sensors Division. Prior
to her career with TRW, Manouela interned at Harman International for 5 months where she held a
Temporary Electronics Engineering position.
Treasurer - Jessica Engwis

Section Representative #1 - Faith Chu (Kurily)
Faith Chu (Kurily) has been involved with SWE since 2000 when she joined as a collegiate member. She
has served on the SWE-Detroit Executive Committee in various roles since 2005 including PD Co-Chair,
VP of Membership, and PD Events Chair. Faith is excited to run for Section Rep to be more engaged with
SWE Region activities and also represent SWE-Detroit’s interests and views in SWE matters. Faith has
participated on the SWE National Awards Committee, and has been a Region H Leadership Coach since
2010. She obtained her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and a
MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Her engineering career has spanned
various industries including Chrysler, US Army TACOM, and current she serves as Program Coordinator
for Robofest, a robotics STEM outreach program out of Lawrence Technological University. She
recently was married March 2014, and is currently enjoying being a newlywed, sewing, cooking, working
out, reading, and traveling.
Section Representative #2 - Katie Amelio, PE
Katie works at the American Concrete Institute contributing to online education and professional
development programs.
Katie has been involved in SWE since 2003. Her previous roles with the Chicago Regional section include
847 Circle leader, Nominating Committee Chair, President, Section Representative, SWE-CRS Secretary,
and SWE-CRS Newsletter editor. Currently she serves as the FY14-FY15 Region H Secretary and one of
the SWE-D FY14 Section Representatives. She finds the SWE outreach and professional development
events to be rewarding and inspiring. The role as SWE-Detroit Section Representative will provide Katie
with the opportunity to become more involved with Detroit sections activities and events and maintain
involvement in SWE at the region level.
Section Representative #3 - Laurie Ramsay
Laurie Ramsay is a Fellow Life member of SWE, ever since she was a freshman at the University of
Michigan in 1980. She has served as the SWE Detroit section President, Section Rep, Career Guidance
chair, and most recently on the Advisory Council. She has also been involved in SWE nationally as Career
Guidance Committee Chair, Procedures Chair, National Vice President, and Conference Management
Committee Chair. Laurie always attends the National Conferences, and knows many of the SWE leaders
in the Society. She’d like to serve as Section Representative not only to represent SWE-D to the Region
and National level, but to enhance the communication to our local members about SWE globally that
most people don’t see.
Laurie has worked at Ford Motor Company for over 27 years, currently stationed at Flat Rock Assembly
plant where she’s both launching the Fusion and will remain there to work on the Quality team for both
Fusion and Mustang. She is a founding member of the Professional Women’s Network, and co-chairs the
Ford SIG.
