CAT and IT practical to be written on 19 AND 20 October 2015 – These are practical papers and must be treated like the practical papers of other subjects, e.g. Services, Technical

Subjects, Arts, etc. Checking / marking the CDs should take place before 2 November. Rewrite can then take place where folders were corrupt or not saved during the final examination on 30 November.

26 October to 27 November 2015 – NSC end of year examination

Schools are closing for all learners (09 Dec) and teachers on 11 December 2015.

Religious holidays for Jews, Hindus, Muslims and Christians have been taken into consideration .(What is available on Internet)

This timetable has an impact on the dates for standardisation and release of results.

All SBA mark sheets with provincial offices by 30 October 2015 ready for capturing to start on 02 November 2015.

All SBA marks captured by 14 November 2015 - 24:00.

Marking can only start in the majority of the provinces on 30 November and can only be finished by 15 December 2015.

Capturing 01 December to 18 December 2015.

Standardisation Preparation : 19 - 20 December 2015

NEIC Meeting: 20 December 2015 (Sunday)

Pre- Standardisation must take place 21 - 22 December 2015.

Umalusi standardisation meeting 23 December 2015 (Wednesday).

23 December until 25 December 2015. Adjustment process and resulting :

26 - 29 December 2015: Verification by officials (and principals)

30 December 2015 - Umalusi approval meeting

30 December 2015 – 1 January 2016 Printing of statements and preparation for release can take place. ?

02 January 2016: Data set transferred to Higher Education ?

2 - 4 January 2016 Distribution of statements to schools and preparation for press releases in provinces.

Release of results –Wednesday 06 January 2016. (Schools open 13 January 2016.

20 January 2016: Closing applications for re-mark/ re-check (Remarking done before 01

February – Results released 08 Feb.)

20 January 2016: Closing date for applications for supplementary examinations.
