I IISTALI-ATION SUGG ESTIONS
In a good industrialenvironment, where there is a low
(noise, level there is little danger of interterence.
However,it can be necessary lo take the following
precautionsto give good operation of the unit.
A - Supply : A separatesupply cable should be usedlor
the counter, and this cable should be kept away trom
inductive devices (contactors, lans etc.). Should the
supply be subiect to large and rapid voltagevariations
due to other line loads it may be necessaryto utitisea
voltage slabiliseror isolationtranstormer.
B - Inpul cables I The connection betweenthe counter
and the input device should be made via a 2 core
screcnedcable.The screenmustbe earthedal onlyone
poinl, but that poinl can be a eitherend of the cable. The
inpul circuitshouldnol be interruptedby or commanded
bv the contactsol a contactor.ll such contacts need to
be used then suppressionis essenlial (see D).
C - Externalreset:Theexternalresetcan be ogerat;d bv
a parr ol normally open volt lree contacts, The
connectionlrom the counterto that conlact should be
made in a 2 core screened cable with a single earlh
point al one end of th€ screen. The reset conlacts
shoulo not be lurther from lhe counter than 5 msters.
Should a longer lsngth bs required it would be
necessary to use a local relay and command that
from a dislance. lt may be necessarylo suppressthe
coil of the relav.
