About the Institute
The institute was initially established as
Sardar Vallabhbhai Regional College of
Engineering & Technology in 1961 and
was upgraded as a National Institute of
Technology on 4th October, 2002.
SVNIT is one of the pioneering
engineering institutions of the country
which has contributed many outstanding
engineers in India & abroad. It is
conducting seven UG programs,
eighteen PG programs and a Ph.D.
program in all disciplines of engineering
and applied sciences. Special attention is
given to interdisciplinary researchers.
The institute has an excellent placement
record with a number of top ranking
companies visiting the campus every
year.

About the Training programme
The proposed STTP is an interdisciplinary
programme which will bring together the
faculties from engineering disciplines,
Industries, faculties from Science colleges &
Universities. This will be greatly benefited
in providing conceptual understanding,
computational & procedural fluency and
problem solving skills.
The broad scope brings together a wide
range of research areas in mathematics and
allied fields such as numerical methods,
fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer,
computational fluid dynamics, nano
technology,
Newtonian
and
nonnewtonian fluids and any other
engineering application etc. This STTP
course is designed to be a core course in
heat and mass transfer. Concepts including
conservation of laws, conduction, laminar
and turbulent convection, phase change
and radiation will be discussed and
applied. The course is open to participants
from all areas of engineering and sciences.
This Training programme will focus on a
presentation and discussion of analytical,
numerical and experimental methods used
in the study of the fundamental research
and application in convective heat and
mass transfer.
