Program Description
The Department of Electrical Engineering offers a program of graduate study leading to a Master of Science in Engineering
(M.S.E.) degree with a major in electrical engineering. The M.S.E. program is broad in scope and emphasizes portable concepts
in the design and analysis of complex physical systems using modeling, synthesis, and optimization techniques, and bridges
interdisciplinary engineering areas such as control systems, microwave engineering, power electronics, signal processing, very
large scale integrated circuits (VLSI), and wireless communications. A Ph.D. in engineering with a major in electrical

Students employed as teaching or research
assistants through the Graduate School must
choose the thesis option. The thesis option
consists of a research project satisfying all
requirements of the Graduate School. The
final report (thesis) must be completed and
successfully defended in an oral examination
before a faculty committee.
