Summary Description
Under general direction, is responsible for managing and supporting the system’s efforts to attain/retain
disease specific certification through The Joint Commission. Ensures data capture, aggregation and analysis.
Manages and communicates data in tandem with the quality infrastructure for initial and ongoing recertification.
Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships related to clinical performance improvement initiatives; works
with teams to drive toward goals. Facilitates and provides education related to quality improvement for TJC
Disease Specific certification. Assists clinicians in understanding measurement for certification. Oversees and
monitors projects to ensure readiness for certification Works collaboratively with leadership who are assigned
responsibility in the Joint Commission certification process to identify and address issues and coordinate
efforts. Serves as a source of expertise on The Joint Commission Disease Specific certification/recertification.
Interprets TJC communications as needed to leadership and staff.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree required, an advanced degree in Health or Business Administration or in a related
professional field is strongly preferred. RN, other licensed healthcare certification, or Certification in
Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is desirable.
2. Three years experience with progressively more responsibility in a health care system, hospital or
other similar complex organization subject to intense external regulations.
3. Two years experience in accreditation and regulatory survey coordination, including direct involvement
with senior management and outside entities regarding compliance with external standards
4. Experience in the use of personal computers.
Skills Required
1.
Diverse and discreet communication and interpersonal skills for relations with hospital and corporate
administration, and their relationship with outside entities/stakeholders, including government,
regulatory, licensure, and accrediting bodies. A mastery of a variety of communication modalities is
required in complex negotiations, preparing documents and maintaining relationships with internal and
external functions.
