Each circuit includes a fully hermetic compressor with a
crankcase heater and internal line break motor protection, a
co-axial condenser with copper tubing inside a steel casing, a
high pressure control, a filter-drier, a compressor lockout
circuit, an expansion valve, and a full operating charge of
refrigerant-22.
Units include a one-year limited warranty on all replacement
parts and a five-year limited warranty on each compressor.
These units have been tested by Underwriters Laboratories
and will be shipped with a UL label.
DESCRIPTION
APPLICATION FLEXIBILITY
These "cooling only" units can be applied with:
These units are completely assembled, piped, wired, charged
and tested at the factory and are shipped ready for immediate
installation. Only the power supply wiring, the thermostat
wiring, the condenser water piping, the condensate drain piping
and the ductwork are required to complete the installation.
1. Cooling towers.
2. Well or surface water providing the temperature and the
GPM of the water meet the application limitations of the unit.
3. Brackish or salt water and a secondary heat exchanger.
The blower section of the 15-ton unit can be removed to simplify
rigging on renovation jobs where the equipment may have to
be moved through doorways, elevator shafts and/or stairways.
They can be installed:
All of these vertical, indoor units include a well-insulated
cabinet, a centrifugal blower, a 1750 RPM blower motor, an
adjustable V-belt drive, 1" throwaway filters, a 24-volt
temperature control circuit, 1" flanges for both the supply and
return air duct connections, a copper tube/aluminum fin
evaporator coil, and either one (CED060) or two (CED090, 120,
180) refrigerant circuits.
2. In an equipment room with both supply and return air
ductwork.
1. Within the conditioned space as "free standing" units without any ductwork. Supply air plenum and return air grille
accessories are available for these freestanding applications.
Hydronic coils and electric heaters are available for
"cooling/heating" applications.
560.20-TG1Y
ACCESSORIES - Field Installed
SUPPLY AIR PLENUMS - These fully insulated plenums are
available for free standing units located within the conditioned
space, are shipped knocked-down for easy field assembly, are
finished to match the exterior of the basic unit, and have double
deflection grilles that can be adjusted to vary the throw, spread
and drop of the supply air.
RETURN AIR GRILLES - These expanded metal grilles are
available for free standing units located within the conditioned
space, are finished to match the exterior of the basic unit and
are shipped in one piece for easy installation.
HOT WATER COILS - These drainable coils have 2 rows of
1/2" copper tubes, 8 aluminum fins per inch, a casing that is
finished to match the exterior of the basic unit, but no water
control valve. The coils can be slid out of their casings for easy
field installation.
STEAM COILS - These non-freeze coils have 1 row of 1"
copper tubes, a 5/8" copper tube inside each 1" tube to
distribute the steam evenly across the entire length of the coil,
8 aluminum fins per inch, a casing that is finished to match the
exterior of the basic unit, but no steam control valve. The coils
can be slid out of their casings for easy field installation and are
pitched in their casings to facilitate condensate drainage.
ELECTRIC HEATERS - Three-phase heaters are available in
several capacities to precisely match the heating requirement
of the conditioned space. These heaters are designed for easy
field installation over the unit’s supply air opening, are fully
protected against excessive current and temperature by fuses
and two high limit thermostats, and are shipped with a UL label.
Units with electric heat will require two power supplies - one for
the basic unit and one for the heater.
ELECTRIC HEAT KIT - This wiring harness is required to
interconnect an electric heat accessory with the basic unit.
ANTI-CYCLE TIMERS - These timers provide a 5-minute "OFF
CYCLE" whenever a compressor shuts down. They include a
low voltage cutout that can be adjusted to prevent a
compressor from operating when the voltage of the main power
supply drops 10% below its nominal rating.
WATER REGULATING VALVES - These valves are available
to control the flow of condenser water on installations where
the temperature of the water may drop below 60°F. These
valves reduce water use and maintain more stable operating
conditions.
THERMOSTATS - Wall-mounted thermostats and subbases
(24-volt) with system and fan switches are available to control
the operation of "cooling only" units or units with a heating
accessory.

The water-cooled condensers in these units have copper tubing and are NOT suitable for salt or brackish water. Do not install these units outdoors nor in any area where the surrounding temperature
may drop below 32°F.
1
The water pressure must be great enough to overcome the pressure drop of the condenser and the condenser water piping.
2
Although the water side is only leak tested for 150 psig, the maximum water-side working pressure of the condenser is 450 psig. Class 150 fittings in the unit’s condenser water piping are good
for 300 psig. For 300 psig applications, a sealing material ( Locktite or equivalent) must be applied to all threaded connections to assure a leak-tight installation. The water regulating valve
accessories are limited to a maximum 150 psig.
3
The limitations for entering condenser water temperature will vary with condenser water GPM.
4
A minimum steam pressure of 5 psig is required if the entering air temperature should drop below 45°F.

These capacities are gross ratings. For net capacities, determine the KW requirement of the supply air blower motor per the published BLOWER PERFORMANCE data.
Convert KW to MBH per the following equation and deduct this equivalent heat from the gross cooling ratings.
Blower Motor KW x 3.415
MBH =
KW
Blower Motor Heat (MBH)
2
Compressor KW only. For total unit KW, add the KW requirement of the supply air blower motor per the BLOWER PERFORMANCE data.

NOTE: Refer to Form 560.20-AD1 for blower performance curves.
RPM range for th standard, factory-mounted drive components.
Exceeds the BHP limitation of the standard factory mounted blower motor. Note the ED060A46 has a 1 HP blowermotor that can operate at 1.15 BHP providing the unit is not
equipped with ahot water or steam coil.
1
Unit resistance is based on a wet evaporator coil and clean filters.
2
Available static pressure i IWG to overcome the resistance of the duct system and any accessories added to the unit. Refer to the respective tables for the resistance of these accessories and
for additional motor and drive data.
Motors can be selected to operate into their service factor because they are located in the moving air stream, upstream of any heating device. Units with steam or hot water coils are the only
exception. On these units, the BHP must not exceed the nominal HP rating of the motor.

Adjusting the vertical louvers will vary the throw, the spread and the drop. 2Adjusting the horizontal louvers will only vary the drop.
3
The velocity of the air will be 125 ft./min. at the minimum distance and 80 ft./min. at the maximum distance.
4
The velocity of the conditioned air at the bottom of the drop will be 50 ft./min. Drafts will occur if the drop extends into the occupied level of the conditioned space.
