TR-069 SOLUTION
Overview
TR-069, the Broadband Forum’s CPE WAN management protocol, is now the defacto standard for remote CPE
management. TR-069 provides standardized remote device management for residential gateways and other
devices. It provides the necessary framework for efficient, scalable and secure provisioning, to support a wide
variety of broadband services.
ALTEN Calsoft Labs’ offers a consolidated TR-069 solution that includes an ACS management platform (based
on OpenACS) that can support a range of devices from Residential Gateways, Femtocells, Access Points, Access
Gateways, VoIP Gateways to Set Top Boxes based on different data models and specifications.The solutions also
includes a TR-069 Client Agent for devices that includes Residential Gateways and Set Top Boxes for now and
enhanced to support Femtocells and VoIP Gateways.
Auto Configuration Server (ACS)
ALTEN Calsoft Labs’ Auto Configuration Server (ACS) application is a hosted solution to address automatic
configuration & zero touch provisioning of CPE appliances in the broadband market. This is delivered as SaaS to
the network operators and service providers for remote device management using TR-069 standards. ACS
supports TR-069, TR-106, TR-098 and TR-111 standards defined by the broadband forum. The TR-069 compliant
ALTEN Calsoft Labs’ ACS is capable of supporting device models like TR-196 (Femtocell) and TR-135 (Set Top
Box) and enables Femtocell and STB device management and configuration.

ALTEN Calsoft Labs’ ACS has been specifically designed to meet the management challenges faced by the Telco
service providers for remote device deployment, initial automated self service provisioning, remote
configuration management and fault management. The solution is highly scalable supporting networks of any
size and easy to integrate new device models by plugging the device models to the existing architecture
seamlessly.
ACS provides generic, centralized and automated platform that enables service providers to manage, provision,
upgrade millions of devices deployed in residential and corporate premises. The functional solution features
include device identification, registration, activation, configuration update, firmware upgrade, diagnostics and
trouble shooting.
ALTEN Calsoft Labs’ ACS leverages the functionality of OpenACS and improved to support full TR-069
compliance.
Connection Manager
This module is responsible for establishing the secured connections with the remote devices. This module
initiates, authenticates and maintains TR-069 sessions through HTTPS over TCP/IP. It constructs the TR-069
payload SOAP messages exchanged with the devices. Key functionalities of Connection Manager includes Processing the instructions to perform device authentication, configuration updates, software upgrades
and download services.

Device Manager
Device Manager provides a highly available platform for remote device management workflows and easy
integration support with operation support systems. The standard workflows and procedures are defined in the
templates that are customizable to the specific needs of any service provider. ACS supports new device model by
adding service extensions to the architecture. Key functionalities of Device Manager includes –
