Swing into Spring!
Ah, Spring-time! It begins on that morning
when something barely perceptible
changes in the air: that first day when you
don’t need your duffle-coat, and it feels
essential to eat your sandwiches in the
park and watch dogs chase sticks and
toddlers wobble and planes thread silver
vapour slowly across the sky...
This glorious season becomes official on
March 21st, and with the first whispers of
new life all around us, Spring-time seems
close enough to touch!
Happy Mothering Sunday!
Mothers: They are strength, wisdom, and love

Easter
Things!
Easter! The single time in a year
when it's safe to put all your
eggs in one basket. There are
so many things to revel in this
season: the sunshine, the
daffodils, the chocolate... But
the thing I'm most looking
forward to is knocking out the
Easter Bonnet song again. It's been
stuck in my head since January! Shall we practice?
Easter Parade’- Irving Berlin
‘In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it
you’ll be the grandest lady in the Easter parade!
I'll be all in clover, and when they look you over,
I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter parade!
The Christian
Calendar
Palm Sunday- (March 20th) happens a week before
Easter, and celebrates the day that Jesus arrived in
Jerusalem riding a donkey. Crowds of people came out
to greet him, throwing down palm branches on the
road. These days, the symbolic palm cross is used to
remind Christians of Jesus’ journey, and of his death on
the cross.
Maundy Thursday- (March 24th) is the last
Thursday before Easter. Many Christians will partake in
the Holy Communion service, in which they remember
the last supper Jesus had with his disciples. This
typically includes the breaking of bread to represent
his body, and the pouring of wine to represent is blood.
Good Friday- (March 25th) marks the day Jesus was
crucified on the cross, and in many churches is
considered a day of mourning and reflection.
Easter Sunday- (March 27th) marks Jesus’
resurrection. Jesus’ disciples discovered that the stone
blocking his tomb had been rolled away, and that his
body was missing. Jesus appeared to them later that
day- risen from the dead.
