General information
Sound functions of GALILEOSKY terminals (hereinafter - terminal) allow you to provide two-way
voice GSM communication between a driver and a dispatcher.
The following devices can be used as sound equipment (Pic. 4):
Picture 4. PTT, microphones, loudspeakers
To get the sound of high quality it is necessary that the equipment applied had the following
characteristics:
Microphone parameters:
Parameter
Operating voltage, V
Operating current, microА
Load resistance, kOhm
Loudspeaker parameters:
Parameter
Resistance of the connected loudspeaker, Ohm
Operating current, mА
Power with the 32 Ohm loudspeaker, mW

Connection of the sound equipment for the organization of a two-way
communication with the dispatcher
Connection of the sound equipment differs depending on the version of the used GalileoSky
terminal:
1. For GalileoSky v1.8.5 и 2.2.8 terminals the connection of a microphone and a loudspeaker is carried
out by means of specially separated contacts of the main socket (Pic. 5).

Attention! To reduce the level of mutual influence and parasitic distortion it is necessary to
connect cable screens from the microphone and the loudspeaker to special contact of AGND.
2. various ways of connection are applied to GalileoSky v5.0 terminals depending on modification (Pic.
6, 7):

Attention! For connection of the loudspeaker and the microphone Jack 3, 5 Stereo sockets are
used. Use of Jack 3,5 Mono is inadmissible.

It is possible to connect push-to-talk KMC-25 or a compatible one directly to the terminal.
Separate connection of the loudspeaker and the microphone is allowed. The loudspeaker can have the
Jack 2, 5 Stereo or Jack 2, 5 Mono sockets.
Settings of sound equipment parameters for the organization of a twoway communication with the dispatcher
After connection of the equipment you should perform its setting. It is possible to do it in two
various ways.
1. Setting via Configurator. Go to the “Setting” tab-> “Sound” of the Configurator, set the necessary
parameters (Pic. 8) and press “Apply” button.
Picture 8. Sound setting parameters in the Configurator
Parameter «Push-to-talk КМС-25 connected» defines the mode of connected PTT. In case if this
parameter is set the loudspeaker of the PTT will give out a beep when there is an incoming call. You can
lift the handset by pressing the button of PTT for one time. Further switching between the loudspeaker
and the microphone of PTT is made by pressing the button. If the button is pressed – the microphone is
on, if not – the loudspeaker is on.
At removal of this parameter the button of PTT isn't used, and the microphone and the
loudspeaker are connected at the same time. Sound quality at such use worsens, because there is a
mutual influence between the microphone and the speaker.
2. Setting via commands. By means of the below-mentioned commands remote setting of terminal
sound functions is possible.
