System design and layout is a critical step in the project process which requires the coordination of many details and teamwork between the customer and Cannon Equipment. Each system has different requirements and each customer has different needs. This is where our
dedicated System Designers excel, bringing their years of experience, expertise and
knowledge to the forefront.
System Integration involves an understanding of the current facility layout and then adjusting, using AutoCad files to place the new Cannon Equipment system or components into the
layout. This means details such as ceiling heights , clearance spaces, overhead obstructions
and floor space need to be taken into account.

ource for automatic basket and stack handling systems
Stack Conveyors & Transfers
In a fully automated system, stack conveyors and pushers offer the greatest return on investment. As such, conveyors alone
offer an attractive alternative to the labor intensive operations found in many commercial bakeries.
IN-FLOOR CONVEYING SYSTEMS reduce labor and product damage and can be customized to handle any basket and to fit
any shipping floor plan. Utilized in either in-floor or above-floor applications, CannonMachinery™ conveyors and transfers
operate smooth and quiet and are interchangeable with other automated equipment.
Stops are typically located at cross over points to prevent collisions. Empty bun baskets returned to the plant in cross nested
stacks are automatically identified on the in-floor loop and transported to a conveyor that
feeds an unstacker.
TRANSFERS are used with stack conveying systems and provide automatic
movement of stacks at critical points in the system. These critical points
often include the following:
• Transfer stacks of fully loaded baskets from one conveyor line to another
• Remove stacks from conveying system for unstacking
Robotic Pick & Place Basket Loaders
Robotics integration in manufacturing is an industry standard, and Cannon Equipment is
able to accommodate nearly any robotic need throughout your facility. We have designed and developed robotic applications that require little to no down-time while
reducing product damage and waste and increasing efficiency.
Our highly versatile robotics require less hard tooling adjustments when the size or
shape of product changes, decreasing down-time and overall costs associated with running the robot.
ROBOTIC PICK & PLACE BASKET LOADERS provide automated loading of corrugated boxes, trays and/or baskets at high speeds. A “floating” vacuum head adjusts automatically
to “grip” under or over proofed product, reducing product damage and waste.

Highly efficient loading of corrugated boxes, trays, or baskets
Compact design minimizes required floor space
Consistent, fluid motion control reduces product damage
Easily keeps pace with high speed slicing & bagging equipment

Basket Unstackers
We offer BASKET UNSTACKERS that handle Cross Nested as well as Nested Baskets and
adjust to handle bread, bun, or bulk baskets in different heights, and bail type baskets.

Reduces required floor space
Can be configured to handle straight or cross-nested stacks
Can unstack different basket heights
Easily interfaced with in-floor conveyor systems and stack pushers
Clean, efficient pneumatic operation
The NESTED BASKET UNSTACKER handles hard to separate bailtype baskets, providing efficient, reliable performance. The programmable controlled machine unstacks and releases bail-type
baskets at a pre-determined rate.
Our CROSS-NESTED BASKET UNSTACKERS are programmable, operate pneumatically, feature smaller footprints and can be modified to handle straight or cross-nested stacks.
As baskets are unstacked and released, an automatic device turns the baskets to ensure
proper alignment throughout the basket handling system.
Basket Stackers
Cannons BASKET STACKERS feature adjustable stack height and reliable, programmable controls. Our designs offer compact footprints and versatility allowing stacks to be:
•
•
•
Transferred in conjunction with in-floor conveyors
Transferred for further modification as an automatic dolly loader
Discharged at floor level for integration with manual shipping practices
The STEP DOWN BASKET STACKER features adjustable stack height and reliable programmable controls, a compact design that does not require external lowerators or transfers
for discharge, and unmatched versatility.
Basket Palletizers
BASKET PALLETIZERS feature compact, heavy duty construction and smooth reliable hydraulic operations. A single unit will easily handle the entire production output of
most bakeries.
Ultrasonic Washers
ULTRASONIC WASHERS achieve a higher standard of cleanliness for plastic baskets by
utilizing ultrasonic sound. In this unique system, time, temperature, detergent, and
mechanical energy each contribute to the removal of dirt (including static soil) from
every surface of the basket.
• Use
piezo-electric transducers to generate cavitation in a detergent based solution that
implodes soil and residue
• Optional in-line blower incorporates an airknife system to remove excess rinse water from
the surface of the basket
