The registration cost is $35. This includes a copy of the conference proceedings, reception, lunch, and light

Keynote
Enhancing Community-Based Physical Activity Participation: The SCI Action Canada Story
Dr. Kathleen Martin Ginis is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University and the
Founding Director of SCI Action Canada. Her research program focuses on physical activity behaviour change, and
the psychosocial consequences of physical activity participation. Much of her research focuses on adults with spinal
cord injury. Dr. Martin Ginis is a co-author of The Psychology of Exercise: Integrating Theory and Practice (4th ed.),
has published over 200 peer-reviewed research articles and received over $10 million in research funding.
History
For the past sixteen years, the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto has
hosted an undergraduate student research conference for kinesiology and physical education students.
Scope
Undergraduate students may present literature reviews, critiques, term papers, findings from research projects
or work in-progress. This is a multidisciplinary conference that includes topics from exercise physiology,
biomechanics, sports medicine, motor learning and control, exercise and sport psychology, philosophy, history
and sport sociology. Students submit an abstract and are given 10 minutes to present their papers to peers and
faculty. Awards of recognition will be given to the best presentation in each area.
