Hello fellow Students,
First of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to vote!
My name is Teresa Taylor and I am a second year student at
ACC. I am currently the VP of the Student Government at
ACC, so you might have seen me around the Littleton
campus. I also served as the head of the Social Media
Committee for the majority of this academic year. The
committee is dedicated to connecting students with campus
life and activities through the use of social media platforms.
Together with my amazing committee members we managed
to get our Facebook page up and running.
This time around I am running as the Secretary of Student
Government. It might seem odd that I am not running for
President but since next year will be my last year at ACC I
want to make way for a new generation of student leaders. At
the same time I want to still be involved in the processes of
Student Government because I enjoy it so much. Another
reason for me continuing in a less active role is that I want to
make sure that the projects of the current Student Government get completed. One of those projects
is a proposal to certain departments at ACC that they use OER’s, which stands for Open
Educational Resources. It is a concept in which a department will refrain from using expensive
textbooks and use free online resources instead. Implementing such projects takes a lot of time and
work and I want to help the next Student Government in further pursuing these projects.
What I love most about working as a Student Government member is the variety of ACC students
that I meet. From part-time, to concurrent enrolment, from traditional to nontraditional students- you
guys make ACC the cool and welcoming place it is. Being an international but “traditional” full time
student myself I think that I would be a good person to continue representing ACC students.
I am very much looking forward to giving ACC students my all with a new, awesome team. Together
we can get things done and have our voices heard! You already took the first step by voting, so go
you :)
