Founded in 1472, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) is recognized
as one of Europe’s premier academic and research institutions, attracting talented
scholars and students from all over the world. As one of Germany’s most
dynamic universities, LMU has over 50,500 students currently enrolled, 14%
of which are international students. LMU’s main building is located in the heart
of Munich, a friendly and vibrant city with approximately 1.35 million people

Academic Program: American Studies, Business Administration, Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Communication
studies, Economics, English Philology, German Philology, German Language, History, Law, Medicine, Political Science.
Eligibility: Undergraduate students with a 2.50 overall GPA or higher. If you choose to take only courses taught in English no German
language skills are required. If you wish to take courses in German you are required to have level B1 (according to the "Common
European Framework of Reference for Languages"), unless stated otherwise.
Courses: This program is full curriculum, offering courses from multiple disciplines, such as history, philosophy, psychology,
physics, biology, chemistry, social sciences, economics, business administration, and geosciences to name a few. Most courses are
offered in German, but many departments offer some courses in English. For a list of possible courses go to

Estimated Costs: Airfare, FAU tuition (in state/out of state rates apply), FAU application fee ($200 semester/$250 year), and CISI
insurance ($40 est. per month). The estimated cost of living in Munich for 1 month is 800 €. Students may find the monthly
estimates to be high or low depending on their personal choices.
Living Accommodations: Rooms in private accommodation cost from 350€ to 600€ per month. Rooms in student residences cost
