Thor: The Dark World
T
hor comes back to the silver screen to save
Earth from the darkest enemy. Fighting
alongside the most unexpected ally, Thor
slowly understands the meaning of being king of his
world…
A year after Marvel's The Avengers, an ancient
race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge
the universe back into darkness. Malekith is leader
of the dark elves, who inhabit Svartalfheim, one of
the Nine Realms. After waging war with the Nine
Realms, and being defeated by Asgard, the dark
elves were considered to be extinct. But Malekith
put his planet and the surviving dark elves into
hibernation for many thousands of years, until a
calculated time when he was ready to seek revenge
against the universe and turn light once more into
darkness.
Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard
cannot withstand, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) decides
to form an uneasy, desperate alliance with Loki (Tom
Hiddleston), his adoptive brother, who was taken
back to Asgard by Thor as a prisoner after Marvel's
The Avengers. Thor also reunites with Jane Foster
(Natalie Portman) by bringing her to Asgard from
Earth.

can he prove his worth to his father, Odin, the King
of Asgard? How should he deal with his lethally
resentful brother? Is his place with Jane on Earth,
or is it in Asgard? As Thor begins to understand
the responsibilities, burdens and sacrifices he must
suffer to be king, he embarks on his most difficult
and personal journey, which forces him to sacrifice
everything to save the universe.
As with the best heroes of Marvel Comics, Thor
reveals to the audience his 'human' side, despite his
mighty powers to call down the storm, the thunder

in the main storyline are intertwined with family
issues that are relatable to you and me. This can
be seen in the love-hate, competitive yet dependent
relationship between the two brothers, Thor and
Loki. In a certain sense, it's a family drama that
shows that gods/heroes are just as flawed as any
ordinary person.
Thor: The Dark World will be out on October 31,
