Continuing the history of the company dating back to 1895 whose founders
Laurin and Klement started with the production of bicycles, this year’s line
of ŠKODA design bicycles, the twentieth in a row, became a valid part of
the ŠKODA Genuine Accessories. Both founders of automotive production
in Mladá Boleslav would be certainly happy about a long-term partnership
of the ŠKODA brand with the biggest cycling events in the world.
ŠKODA WILL AGAIN BE THE PARTNER OF TOUR DE FRANCE
Close connection of the ŠKODA brand with cycling seals the long-term
partnership with Tour de France, the world most famous cycling race. Last
year, ŠKODA AUTO celebrated ten years in the role of a proud official partner
of the French stage race. This year the partnership was extended to 2018
and it also relates to the Spanish Vuelta race.
In addition to sponsorship that is apparent when glancing at the track, ŠKODA
presents with what they know best – with ŠKODA cars. Each year, since the
very beginning in 2004 when ŠKODA cars became official Tour vehicles,
a convoy of up to 250 ŠKODA cars has accompanied the peloton – be it as
escort, journalists or organizers’ vehicles.
This year the 101st Tour de France is starting on the 5th of June and the start
is taking place in England, in Yorkshire county. Within accompanying activities
of ŠKODA AUTO visitors will have a the opportunity to see ŠKODA Grand Tour
bicycle in an exclusive design ŠKODA. It had been made specially for this
occasion in cooperation with Bike Fun International company and its brand
SUPERIOR, on which the ŠKODA design bicycle collection for the year 2014 is
based. The first electric bicycle in the modern history of ŠKODA, produced in
collaboration with the brand KTM, is also a part of the offer.
We do believe that these products will become a good partner for spending
your leisure time.
