ESCO Corporation Acquires Advanced Cutting Systems

Portland, ORE (USA) – ESCO Corporation announced today that it has acquired

Advanced Cutting Systems (ACS) in a strategic purchase that increases ESCO’s underground mining product offerings.

Based in Windber, Pennsylvania, ACS designs and manufactures high-quality cutting drums used in underground mining. The drums are custom-engineered to meet specific cutting conditions. ACS drums are designed for all models and brands of road milling machines, continuous miners and longwall shearers.

The company’s products are known for increased production results, smoother cutting action, long drum life and low maintenance costs.

“As a key drum manufacturer in North America, ACS will help ESCO integrate its underground mining products and services into the U.S. market and better serve our customers in this very important region,” said Jon Owens, Senior Vice President and

President of Engineered Products for ESCO Corporation.

ACS and its approximately 40 employees have joined ESCO’s Engineered

Products Group. Doing business as ESCO Windber, the site will continue to manufacture products for North America under the ESCO brand and will be a supply and service location for the underground mining industry.
