Sound attenuation
RA and sound attenuating RB are rectangular ducts with
integrated grilles and tabs for fastening to the wall. They are
often mounted in connection with the changing of windows,
but are also used in new construction. These duct opens
discretely under the window ledge and for this reason have
no effect on the appearance of the facade. The window
ledge also provides protection against the weather. Ducts RA
and RB are used together with the Easy-Vent air terminal with
top connection and air terminals Flexi in the series Easy-Vent
for renovation.
The sound attenuating duct RB uses the wall’s insulation as
an absorption material. They only function in stud framed
walls with mineral wool (fibre glass or rock wool) insulation.
RA and RB are manufactured in Aluzink sheet steel, a durable
material with very good anti-corrosion characteristics. This is
important since the duct is intended to have the same length
of life as the building in which it is installed.
The table below shows the reduction coefficient for a
complete installation consisting of Easy-Vent or Flexi, RA
or RB duct and radiator.
