ABOUT THE SEMINAR
A National seminar on ‘Recent Advances in
Nanoscience and Technology’ is being
organized by the Centre for Nanoscience and
Technology, Anna University, Chennai, on 6th7th October 2016. The theme emphasizes the
significance of materials development, its
characterization and optimization for the
potential research and application of
Nanoscience and Technology highlighting the
basic research and it’s utilization in various
disciplines like Life Science, Biotechnology,
Robotics, Photonics, etc… This would be a
great platform for the interaction of students,
reputed researchers and scientists. It also opens
up vistas by disseminating the recent research
and industrial applications. Further, it paves
way for industrialists to innovate modern
products which ease the processing and help
for the betterment of people.

Anna University is the foremost University in
Tamil Nadu, India, which was established on
4th September, 1978 by integrating four
technical institutions – College of Engineering
Guindy, Alagappa College of Technology,
Madras Institute of Technology, and School of
Architecture and Planning. It has been
providing quality education in Engineering and
Technology fields, nurturing the young minds
to achieve industrial development.

colleges in Tamil Nadu.
CENTRE FOR NANOSCIENCE AND
TECHNOLOGY
The Centre for Nanoscience and Technology
was established at Anna University in 2005 and
has been recognized by the Department of
Science and Technology (DST) with a financial
assistantship of 5 crores. The centre has been
actively pursuing research in various areas of
nanoscience and technology, and also conducts
world class training and extension activities
including an academic program.
