Newsletter second issue, April 2016

The ERA-NET Consortium “European Research Area for Climate Services”, socalled ERA4CS, has been designed to boost the development of efficient Climate
Services in Europe, by supporting research for developing better tools, methods
and standards on how to produce, transfer, communicate and use reliable climate
information to cope with current and future climate variability.
1st of March 2016 was the big day for the JPI Climate flagship project
ERA4CS, with the publication of our call as preannounced at the
beginning of January. All relevant information can now be found on the
new ERA4CS website www.ERA4CS.eu.
The Research Matching System for the ERA4CS
Joint Call is now available
A Research Matching System is now available to all researchers interested in the
ERA4CS Call. To register, basic information will be required including discipline,
area of expertise, and a 1-2 sentence summary of topical interest within the topics.
This database is available on this website and searchable for those interested in
finding a collaborator with a certain background or within a specific topic area. All
researchers should please consider registering for this service.

Would you like to submit a proposal?
The Electronic Submission System will be officially opened on 10 May 2016, at the
Adaptation Futures 2016 Conference in Rotterdam (The Netherlands), in the
presence of high-level representatives of the European Commission, the Dutch
Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment, JPI Climate and ERA4CS.
In the meantime, you can have a look at the forms and instructions for submitting a
pre-proposal for the Topic A, and a full proposal for the Topic B.
You can also have a look at our website for the various activities of JPI Climate
and ERA4CS in the context of the Adaptation Futures 2016 Conference.
"How to respond to climate change related risks
in the value chain of your business?"
Side event at Adaptation Futures Conference 2016
JPI Climate, an intergovernmental initiative of major European research funding
bodies, cordially invites you to a workshop on the potential contribution of climate
science to risk management strategies in the private sector. The aim of this event
is to strengthen the dialogue of business leaders with scientists and other
stakeholders in the view of identifying needs for better risk management to which
science can contribute.
