Band-Pass Filters
Product Description:
Band-Pass filters allow for the selection of narrow bands
in the frequency ranges of 0.1-1.2 THz. These filters utilize
multilayer frequency selective surfaces to achieve a desired frequency response. The allowed bandwidth varies
with center frequency, from 10 GHz to 200 GHz.

Product Accessories:
Filters come housed in a permanately sealed aluminum
shell with a polymer protective film on the outside. These
shells are made to sit in a separately sold holder that can
accomodate two of the filters. This allows for easy alignment and quick exchange of the filters in the optical setup.
To the right is an example setup consisting of two filters,
an absorbing aperture, polyethylene lens, and a golay cell.

The filters achieve above 90% transmission at the peak frequency for all available models.
This holds true even for two filters in series so a high cutoff ratio is achievable without significant loss of power. Out of band transmission on the high frequency end is less than one
percent with a single filter and <10^-4 with two filters. This behavior makes the filters ideal for
a range of THz systems such as sources generating terahertz from IR or frequency multiplied
systems.
The filters come packaged with a polymer protective layer to safeguard the microstructure
inside. Care should be taken to not touch these films as the microstructure is fragile. Available
sample mounts allow for easy insertion of 1-2 filters in an optical setup. With clear apertures
of 50-70 mm, alignment in most THz setups is simple and the filters can be rapidly exchanged
for different transmission characteristics.
