The Bright Choice - Contrast Lighting

The Bright Choice
Multi-Aim Collection
Contrast Lighting is synonymous with confidence and offers you
a vast array of recessed and pendant luminaires, decorative glass
lamp shades and wall mounts; all manufactured in Québec and all
of the highest quality. Company excellence is evidenced in its
totally vertical manufacturing integration and its numerous
environmentally friendly products that contribute towards the
protection of the environment.
The Multi-Aim
Collection
Contrast Lighting respected its high quality standards when
designing the Multi-Aim Collection. These luminaires offer
4-head bi-directional LED, MR16 or PAR halogen lighting
that can be aimed separately to respond to all application
requirements. Each lamp head can be powered individually.
This collection went through a rigorous development process
to ensure total reliability.
The Multi-Aim Collection is suitable for architectural applications
such as boutiques, residences, office spaces, museums, hotels
and many other applications. The luminaires, made for
installation in new construction, can be mounted in ceilings
where access is difficult thereby allowing ease of maintenance.
Also, not only do they heighten all interior décor, they provide
accent lighting that enhances architectural elements deserving
of notice.
Housing
The housing is made of galvanized steel and is painted. It includes
universal mounting supports and mounting bars that are suitable for
both permanent and suspended ceilings. Standard housing finishes
are black or white to blend with any décor while providing the same
exceptional lumen output.
The style of the housing provides an opening at the back for maximum
heat dissipation. Since the housing adheres perfectly into the ceiling,
there is no light leakage.
Trims
The housing comes in three trim finishes; black, white and grey and
are 1½” wide. The trim conceals all hardware found inside the housing that would otherwise be visible from any visual angle.
To adapt to a minimalist décor, the luminaires are also available
without a trim. A perforated wire mesh plate can be ordered for use
in a gypsum or plaster ceiling and then covered with joint compound
that is applied to the edge of the housing to obtain a clean edge. This
method gives your ceiling the desired minimalist effect.
Recessed Double Gimbal
This is a revolutionary concept on the market. Multi-Aim incorporates
the famous double gimbal that allows one to get an incomparable
visual cut-off. The LED or MR16 lamp heads rotate in both angles 30°
vertically and horizontally which gives one the option of accenting
objects from different angles in the room. Once positioned, the heads
can be locked in place to maintain the light adjustment.
3-Lamp LED Model versus 4-Lamp MR16 Model
The Multi-Aim 3-lamp LED and 4-lamp MR16 models have the same footprint. The LED lamp heads are slightly bulkier because of the heat sink
which allows excellent heat dissipation and yields a maximum lamp life. Head adjustment is easy because of the extra space. Furthermore, a
3-head LED luminaire allows you to save 75% of energy cost per luminaire annually.
3-Lamp LED Model
A single auto-leveling
screw allows a flush
with the ceiling
installation even if the
ceiling is not level.

DEDICATED LED
Our collection of Multi-Aim LED luminaires consists of
specialized LEDs that consume nearly 3 times less energy
while yielding an exceptional light output. The LED series from
Contrast Lighting is designed to yield the maximum in performance
and versatility. You use less energy, your cost of maintenance is
reduced and you protect the environment, all without comprising
product quality. Also, light from LEDs emits no ultraviolet rays.

LED ENGINE
LED Driver
The Multi-Aim LED engine consists of a driver and a LED
module composed of a heat sink as well as a chip. The LED
module comes in three color temperatures 2700°K, 3000°K
and 4000°K and is installed on the heat sink.
The Magtech LED driver is found in Multi-Aim products.
UL8750, Class 2, it is designed to provide a continuous current
and is adaptable to both dry and damp locations in interior
applications. It meets IP66 standards and is well-suited to
standard junction box installations. Once fully charged, the
LED driver has a power factor of 0.98+ at 115V c.a. The pilot
has a 5-year warranty.
Heat Sink
The heat sink inside a LED luminaire is without a doubt its
most important feature. Temperature control, more
precisely the heat dissipation, is crucial because without it
lumen output depreciates quickly and its average lifespan
decreases dramatically. For this reason, Multi-Aim is equipped
with the most innovative aluminum heat sink and its design
allows heat to clear efficiently; because of this, we are able to
provide a 5-year warranty on the LED module. Also, our heat
sink ensures that light intensity is 70% of the initial lumen value
after a period of 50,000 hours (L70@ 50,000 hrs).
Chip
The Bridgelux Vero18 chip is the latest in Solid-State Lighting
Technology. This new generation of chips obtains higher
efficiency and performance that increase luminous flux in
many different applications. It has a long lifespan and draws
its power from a direct current.
Maintenance
Green Product
The LED driver and the heat sink module are easily accessible
from the ceiling. Two cables allow it to be suspended from
the ceiling when replacing any components (as shown on the
opposite page). Consequently, all maintenance can be easily
done on site.
In retail store applications, the most frequently used lamps
are usually 90W PAR38 and 50W MR16. Replacing these
units by a Multi-Aim will save hundreds of dollars during the
luminaire’s lifespan. Since Multi-Aim LED consumes 80% less
energy than 90W halogens and 85% less than a 50W halogen;
its lifespan is 50,000 hours compared to the lifespan of a 35W
MR16 at 3,500 hours. Multi-Aim qualifies as a green product.
Moreover, the time between lamp replacement is extended
significantly and the number of lamps found in burying sites
decreases substantially.
Dimming
Multi-Aim luminaires can be used with low voltage electronic
dimmers to save on energy. To see the list of compatible
dimmers please visit our website at www.contrastlighting.com.
Warranty and Classification
The LED driver and LED modules in our luminaires are
covered by a 5-year warranty. The luminaire conforms to
LM79 and LM80 standards and is cUL and UL approved.

Multi-Aim
MR16
A halogen light distinguishes itself by its brightness and its crisp white
color. A halogen light enriches a space with contrast. Colors appear
brighter while materials such as chrome, glass and silver appear at
their very best. Multi-Aim luminaires using MR16 lamps become the
ideal choice for optimizing the appearance of objects in a museum,
an art gallery or a retail outlet. MR16 lamps offer multifaceted
reflectors covered with a reflective coating; so is born the “MR”
prefix. The facets gather the light from a filament and create a
concentrated beam to soften edges.
No Light Loss
The shape of the reflector using a MR16 is designed in such a way as
to ensure no loss of light from the back of the luminaire. The reflector
is shaped like a bell allowing the light at the back of the luminaire to
be thrust forward resulting in a more powerful light output.
Maintenance
Maintenance can be undertaken from below the ceiling.
Cables allow you to suspend the unit from the ceiling while
replacing components and the junction box can be completely
pulled out for on-site maintenance.
Dimming
All MR16 halogen lamps can be used with a low voltage (120V)
electronic dimmers.
Warranty
The electronic converter carries a 3-year warranty while the sockets
are guaranteed for a period of 5 years.

PAR30
The acronym of PAR30 lamps stems from the English meaning
parabolic aluminized reflector. The Multi-Aim PAR30 provides secure
lighting suited to restaurants, office spaces, hotels and public areas. It
emits intense white light that allows you to enhance your space. The
large flood light output is ideal for general lighting and the facetted
aluminum reflector provides you with uniform light throughout.
No Light Loss
The shape of the reflector using a MR16 is designed in such a way as
to ensure no loss of light from the back of the luminaire. The reflector

give you the option of varying decorative, professional or residential
atmospheres.
