Tasks
ABB is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to work
independently and as part of a local team based on customer
and service contract requirements in the local area.
You’ll work as part of our Process Automation team, which
engineers solutions and products such as electric propulsion,
mine hoists, turbochargers, and pulp testing equipment.
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited
to, the following:
• Troubleshoot and maintain installed ABB quality control
services products and systems.
• Recommend measures to improve operations and customer
service.
• Work independently to install, modify, test, repair, or inspect
company products and equipment.
• Interpret technical drawings and schematics and make
changes as necessary in the field to reflect work carried out
on site.
• Promote ways to optimize customer operations or make
general improvements.
• Seek other opportunities to promote customer satisfaction
and foster harmonious business relations.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience
working in a technical role; OR
• Associate’s Degree and 3 years of experience working in a
technical role.
-Bachelors Degree and one year of experience working in a
technical role.
Alternatively, this position may be filled at the Senior level for
the successful candidate meeting these basic qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED and 7 years of experience
working in a technical role; OR
• Associate’s Degree and 5 years of experience working in a
technical role.
-Bachelors Degree and 3 years of experience working in a
technical role.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate's degree with a focus on electrical, mechanical,
and electronics courseware plus 5 years of professional
experience within the pulp and paper industry.
• Military Electronics Experience (minimum 6 years).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Operating System.
• Solid working knowledge of the ABB 1190, 800xA, AC450,
Advant, and Ulma/WIS systems.
• Experience with Accuray and the Smart Advisor Camera
based system.
• Solid working knowledge and understanding of the technical
interaction with the process.
