Dear English teacher,
With the New Year starting we want to offer you an opportunity to enrich your English lessons.
Our youth magazines – Click, Zone and Street - offer an opportunity for English learners of
almost all ages to enjoy practicing English and expanding their knowledge of the language by
reading age-appropriate texts and materials whose contents are emotionally and cognitively
suitable for their level of knowledge and development.
The contents and design of the magazines are chosen carefully to be light, trendy and appealing,
so as to motivate learners to read in English, even when it doesn’t come easy. This fact may also
help teachers raise interest in class when the magazines are used during lessons.
Learners can enjoy reading the magazines on their own, at their own pace, or in class, with
teachers using them as source material or as a basis for lessons.
Click, Zone and Street follow closely the domains and benchmarks of the “new” English
curriculum. The focus is on the domains of Appreciation of Language, Literature and Culture,
and the domain of Access to Information. When used in the classroom, the magazines can be
used to practice the domains of Presentation and Social Interaction.
The magazines can significantly help teachers in making learners interact and convey
messages about texts, use vocabulary, tenses and syntax both orally and in writing, ask
and answer questions about different topics situations and interests, express feelings,
opinions, likes and dislikes, engage in conversations, present information about topics
and texts in different forms, react to the content of a text they have read, and more.
Many children write to us, and sometimes even for us, and that is another way in which
they can improve their self-expression in English.
In short, our magazines are great tools when used in the right way by educational staff, and a
source of great joy, fun and enrichment for many learners. We put our whole minds and hearts
into them, to make them the best they can possibly be. However, we are always happy and open
to suggestions and comments received from our readers and teachers in order to make them
even better.
Please let us know what you think about our magazines at – adis@jpost.com.
With warmest regards,
Adi Shtamberger,
Managing editor,
