The expected progress for students in Corley Centre is that they are able to understand and compete in full games of each sport taught by the time they leave Year 11. If students choose then in Key Stage 4 they can study for the BTEC first award in Sport; during the course they develop their understanding of Sport, Coaching and the Science of Sport. It is taught and assessed through Controlled Assessments and an external exam in Year 11. As a school we have played in a large variety of sports including Football, Basketball, Tag-Rugby, Swimming and Boccia. We encourage as many students as we can to participate in extra sporting opportunities but in some activities we do select teams that best represent the talent of our school.
