Prospective applicants must be admitted to Minnesota State Mankato prior to being considered for the Honors
Program. If a student’s class rank and/or ACT scores improve, it is the student’s responsibility to provide this updated
information to the Office of Admissions. Current students must submit a copy of their academic record to the Honors
Program with their applications. Honors Program admission criteria are based on a variety of areas. No predetermined
test score or class rank guarantees or precludes admission. The selection committee considers the applicant’s
demonstrated academic excellence as well as character traits such as perseverance, inquisitiveness, and hard work.

1. If you have chosen an academic major, please list, or indicate that you are undecided.
2. Name of teacher(s) and/or counselor(s) providing recommendations.
3. List any Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) coursework, Advanced Placement (AP) and International
Baccalaureate (IB) examinations you plan to take or have taken. If you have participated in one of these and have your
score or grade, please list this.
4. List any classical or modern languages you have studied and how long you have studied them. Include languages other
than English that you speak in your home.
5. List school activities in which you have participated. For each activity, indicate the years you participated and any
leadership positions you held.
6. List community activities in which you have participated.
7. List your leadership positions and describe responsibilities you have assumed.

9. List any work experience. Describe the type of work. Describe the skills you have developed.
