Keyboarding
General Rule:
Key number as a word if the number is ten or less. Key number as a
figure if the number is greater than ten.
Exceptions:
Spell a number that begins a sentence regardless of the size of the
number.
Use figures for numbers regardless of size if the numbers are
included in a list or series.
Use figures to express dates and times regardless of size unless the
situation is formal (wedding)
Use figures for all house numbers except house number “one”
Use figures to express measures and weights regardless of size.
Use figures for numbers that follow nouns regardless of size.
Capitalize the noun that precedes that number except the nouns
page and line.
Spell names of small numbered streets and avenues (ten and under)
Spell indefinite numbers.
