Mystery Readers
Our guided reading groups
are in full swing! Each day
I meet with small groups of
students to work on
reading. While I am
working with a small group
the rest of the class is
working at centers. They
are doing a great job of
doing their work and
staying on task!
Thank you to those who

and those who have come
in to read. If you are

Words Their Way
Ms. Braga’s
Today we had our first words
their way assessment. This is
to see if the students are
understanding the word
groups. If there were more
than three errors the student
will work on the same sort
again, if there is less than
three errors a new sort will be
sent home on Monday. Also,
starting next week we will
only work on a word sort for
one week.

Miscellaneous
We have continued to
work on chapter 2. Our
focus this week is
subtraction. We have been
working on solving
subtraction equations
using circle drawings to
help us find the difference.

As we practice our sight
words each week, it is
important to also practice
them at home. To help
support your child at home

Our class raised the most
funds for Run for Funds in
first grade! We will be
having a pizza party to
celebrate! A note will be
sent home to let you know
when the pizza party will
