Description of Office
The Human Resources team at Baylor University reflects the university’s mission and strives to educate men and
women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment within

The HR department endeavors to build upon the strengths of managers and employees in order to develop a
culture of excellence. It fosters an environment of continuous learning, professional growth, and organizational
effectiveness through learning and development opportunities and solutions at individual, team and organizational
levels.
Responsibilities/Projects
This internship is project based with an emphasis on the intern taking an active role in the projects and work
assigned and having work products to show potential future employers as a demonstration of real world HR
experience. There are several potential projects listed below with more in the works. It is expected interns will be
available to work 20 hours a week.
Possible projects
 Cataloging and organizing the HR Center for Learning & Leadership Resource collection (books, videos, etc.).
This includes creating the catalog and entering into our Learning Management System, posting information on
our website, and determining the best way to market the resources to Baylor’s employees.
 Creating an intake session for recruiters to use with hiring managers to discuss open positions and determine
how to best communicate and market the positions.
 Identifying and documenting HR best practices.
 Creating a communication strategy, process, and templates.
 Reviewing HR policies and recommending updates.
 Assisting with the development of HR metrics.
 Benefit projects to include Audits, Reporting, and Communication.
