NRR Ad Hoc Committee
• In November 2008, the 802.16 Working Group has
approved the creation of a WG Ad Hoc Committee with the
objective of promoting discussion on robustness and
reliability
• Committee reflector and document upload area
– http://dot16nrr-reflector.wirelessman.org
– http://dot16nrr.wirelessman.org
• Study the potential interest of the WG to launch a new
standardization activity for a highly-reliable and highlyrobust 802.16 system

• 2 sessions have been planned during the week
– Wednesday morning (presentation of contributions)
– Wednesday afternoon (discussion of project
requirements)
• Participation
– Attendees : 10
– Represented companies: LinQuest, France Telecom,
InterDigital, Alvarion, BAE, PureWave, I2R
• NRR project requirement defined

NRR Report
• Reviewed proposed text in contributions;
• Reviewed multiple potential approaches to address the
project requirements.
• Reviewed existing standards to identify project requirements
were not covered.
• Added agreed project requirements to the NRR report
