Summer 2015 Geometry Assignment
Welcome to 2015-2016 CSS Geometry.
Your summer assignment, to be factored into your first marking period
grade, is to read pages 3-33 of Max Tegmark's , "0ur Mathematical
Universe" on "What is Reality" and "Our Place in Space." As you read, you
are asked to do three things.
1. As you read, keep a journal listing at least five words or concepts from
the text that you needed or wanted to look up in a dictionary or on the
internet and what you learned about them.
2. As you read, draw and label at least three geometric diagrams that help
illustrate what you have read or which illustrate thoughts that are inspired
by what you have read.
3. After you have read, and perhaps taken a few minutes to go outside one
evening to observe the night sky, discuss the question, "Does space go on
forever?" in at least 150 words.
