Research Scientist/Engineer – Coating/Surface Chemistry and Materials
Function: Water and Chemical System Technology Organization, Coating and Membrane
Technology Laboratory
Location: Shanghai
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with research scientists and engineers from multidisciplinary teams;
• Analyze existing problems from material science point of view and translate the solutions to
material needs;
• Set strategy to meet the materials needs by screen, synthesis, functionalization, processing and
testing for various applications including Water Treatment, Healthcare, Energy, Appliance,
Electronics
• Flexible among programs ranging from long-term and exploratory research to applied research &
development to serve many GE businesses;

Requirements:
• PhD with research experiences in Polymer/Material Science and Engineering;
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills to work effectively in a crossfunctional development team;
• Self-starter, independent thinker, proactive problem solver;
• High energy with passion for excellence (Demonstrated ability to set and achieve aggressive
goals and targets; Embrace change and technology evolution as an opportunity);
• Strong environmental, health and safety ethics & play an active role in creating culture of safety.
• Fluent oral and written communication in English and Chinese.
• Experience with coating/surface chemistry/materials is a plus
