Jury Project Evaluation
Dear Jurors:
Fellow:
Juror:
Thank you again for your service as juror. Your input throughout the project and your feedback after the presentation are vital to the success
of the project and to the Fellow’s overall learning experience.
You should feel free to discuss your evaluation of the project with the other members of the jury. You may complete one evaluation form for the
entire jury if you wish, although it is often more helpful to the student to receive a number of individual evaluations. In the event that
individual jurors assign different letter grades, those grades will be averaged together for a final grade. The Fellow will receive a typed set of
comments along with the overall grade assigned to the project. Your evaluation will not be identified individually.
Please evaluate the jury project according to the following criteria. Although you do not have to write comments for each criterion, the Fellows
welcome comments in as many sections as you would like to address.
Appropriateness of the project to its intended purpose and site
Some guiding questions: Is the project feasible? What contribution does the project make to the site? To what extent does it
celebrate, commemorate, or enhance some aspect of our collective being? How well has the Fellow created a sense of exigency for the
project?
 Excellent (~A)  Very Good (~B)
 Average (~C)
 Poor (~D)
 Unacceptable (~E)

Quality of presentation
Some guiding questions: How well did the essay portion of the project lay out the Fellow’s goals and explain how the project would
serve those goals? Was the essay well written, logical, and informative? If the essay was accompanied by other materials (such as
photographs or drawings), were references clear and easy to follow? Was the oral presentation a useful elaboration on—and not a
simple restatement of—the ideas discussed in the essay? Did the Fellow make good use of visual aids (models, websites, etc.)? Did
the Fellow conduct him or herself professionally, making good eye contact, speaking with appropriate volume, clarity, and
enthusiasm? How well did he or she respond to questions? Did the Fellow manage his or her presentation time well? In the case of
team presentations, did each member contribute to the presentation meaningfully and in a balanced way?
 Excellent (~A)  Very Good (~B)
 Average (~C)
 Poor (~D)
 Unacceptable (~E)

in advance of today’s presentation?
