What is it all about?
inverse operation of multiplication (inverse=opposite)
2 x 3 = 6 so 6  3 = 2 and 6  2 = 3


Vocabulary
dividend- the number that gets divided 18  3 = 6
18 is the dividend

divisor – the number doing the dividing 18  3 = 6
3 is the divisor

quotient – the answer to a division equation 18  3 = 6
6 is the quotient

remainder – the amount left over if the quotient is not a whole
number
20  3 = 6 r2 or 20  3 = 6 2/3
