DESCRIPTION DE L’EXAMEN (100 points)
PART 1. LISTENING ACTIVITY (in class)
(8 points)
You will listen to an audio file, and answer comprehension questions.
PART 2. ORAL PART: TELL A STORY (in class)
(20 points)
For this part of the exam, you will prepare a story in class, and present it in class. Your story will be
real or fictive, and told using the past tenses appropriately: passé composé et imparfait. It must
last 1 minute, but no more than 2 minutes. It must be in French, and include the following
information:
• description of main character(s)
• weather description
• what your character(s) were doing, where, with whom, etc.
• what happened to your character(s), where, when, etc.
• an ending
Include lots of details and vocabulary words that you have learned this year.
You may not read your story, but you may use this list to remind yourself of what you need to say.
You will be graded on the following:
Pronunciation and fluency
Appropriate vocabulary
Grammatical accuracy
Requirements, effort and creativity

PART 3. MULTIPLE CHOICE, SHORT ANSWERS AND WRITTEN PART
on Tuesday, May 24, 8:15-9:45 am
(72 points )
This part is composed of two sections.:
--Section 1: Sixty multiple choice questions on reading, vocabulary and expressions, grammar,
and culture. You will write your answers on the scantron.
(30 points)
--Section 2: Written part
(42 points)

-sentence writing, paragraph writing (6 points)
-paragraph writing and drawing (20 points)
Suggestions for preparation and study:
1. Make new vocabulary lists in categories. Include whole sentences given in your vocabulary
sections.
2. Color code masculine and feminine nouns and adjectives on flash cards.
3. Study the worksheets and workbook pages you did over the semester.
4. Make a verb chart of commonly used verbs.
5. Don’t put off studying until the last minute or cram.
6. Review several times over for 20 to 30 minutes at a time.
7. Practice, practice, practice out loud.
