MILITARY LEAVE
Fayetteville State University follows and adheres to the Office of State Personnel’s
Military Leave policy.
Refer to Office of State Personnel for specific details on the following types of military
leave provisions available:
 Active Duty Training and Inactive Duty Training
 Physical Examination
 Reserve Active Duty
 Extended Active Duty and Other Military Leave without Pay
 Civil Air Patrol and State Defense Militia
 Reinstatement
Copies of Orders
The University requires an employee to submit a copy of his/her orders or other
appropriate documentation evidencing performance of required military duty. Request
for Military Leave and any extension(s) should be made to an employee's supervisors
as soon as possible after the employee is notified. Supervisors should submit the
approved military leave orders to the Human Resources Office
Eligibility
Full-time and part-time (half-time or more) permanent, probationary, trainee and timelimited employees are eligible.
Temporary, intermittent, part-time (less than half-time), and students are not eligible for
military leave.
