Effective Sept 1, 2015, TAMUCC will E-verify
ALL new hires.
As an E-Verify Employer, we can no longer
accept a List B document that does not have
a photo. (Example: A voter’s registration card
does not have a photo, therefore, it cannot
be accepted for I-9 purposes. List B
documents MUST have PHOTO.
The employee does not have to present a SS
Card for completion of Section 2 however,
the new hire must enter a SS Number (SSN)
in Section 1 of the I-9. This is no longer
optional.
If the new hire does not have a governmentissued SSN, HR will issue a temporary number
until a SSN is obtained. The new hire will be
given 30 days to provide HR with a
government -issued SSN.
