A Glance at the Week…
Reading ~We will be reading Alexander, Who Used
to Be Rich Last Sunday. The story is realistic
fiction. Why isn’t Alexander rich now?? We will
focus on sequencing and asking and answering
questions.
Writing ~We will finish writing about our “Me Bags.”
We will discuss indenting and the proper way to
write on lined paper. The finished product will have
5 paragraphs. We will also focus on complete
sentences.
Math ~We will continue reviewing place
value/comparing and ordering numbers. We will also
learn about rounding numbers to the thousands.
Science ~We will be discussing matter and how it
changes. We will focus on vocabulary such as solid,
liquid, and gas. We will also look at the physical
properties of matter .

Notes and Reminders
-I will be emailing our classroom newsletters
weekly. If this does not work for you and you
would like a paper copy, please let me know.
-We will have a spelling and reading test
on Friday. *These tests will always be on
Fridays.
-If you haven’t sent back your packet of
papers from open house please do so.
-If you have not purchased an agenda yet,
they are $8.00.
-There will be a Scholastic News letter
coming home on Monday. The cost will be
$7.00.
-Checks MUST have phone numbers written
on them please and thank you.
-In order to minimize crowding in the
cafeteria, please follow the schedule, to avoid
crowding.
**This is the first year your children will
be receiving grades. They will be receiving
grades in all subject areas.
