After World War II, Americans turned their energies to the development of peacetime
technologies.

The airline industry and the advancement of the jet engine, along with the automobile industry
and interstate highway system, led to increased domestic and international travel for business
and pleasure.

The entertainment and news media industries led to:
1. CDs, VCRs, and DVDs in most households
2. Nationwide access to television and radio programming

The computer industry led to:
1. Changing ways that people get information (Internet)
2. Greater access to news and other information
3. Cheaper and more convenient means of communication






the world.

Globalization is the linking of nations through trade, information, technologies, and
communication.

It involves the integration of different societies.


3. Outsourcing of industrial and service jobs to other countries

