Migration is when an animal moves or flies to a
warmer location.

Hibernation is when an animal sleeps through the winter. Some animals that hibernate are
bears, bats, squirrels, and frogs. Animals hibernate in the winter.

Camouflage is when an animal’s fur changes color to protect itself from predators.

People use coats, hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves to protect their bodies in winter
weather.

Winter is a season. During winter it gets dark earlier and the
temperature is cold.

When the temperature is 32 degrees, water freezes.

We get snow when ice crystals join together and fall from the clouds.

An evergreen is a tree that stays green all winter.

A deciduous tree will most likely not have any leaves during the winter.
