GRADING POLICIES:
With a positive attitude, hard work, and determination you will be successful in this class! I encourage
you to work together and collaborate when permitted; however, all work submitted for a grade must be
your own original work. This includes your homework assignments. SHOW YOUR WORK to receive the
most points possible! I strictly follow the honor code written out in your handbook. CHEATING will result
in harsh penalties. Your grades will be earned on a total point system:
1. Summative Assessment counts 100% toward the final grade, which includes:
 Tests: 200 points
 Quizzes: 100 points
 Homework packets: Approximately 20 points per unit (4 points per assignment)
 Problem Sets: 20 points
 Various projects: 10-30 points
2. Formative Assessments counts as 0% and doesn’t help or hurt your grade, but will be monitored for
progress:
 Homework, warm-ups, classwork, closing questions
GRADE % = Total Points Earned ÷ Total Points Possible
In all that you do in this course, keep in mind the following simple adage:
It is hard to regain lost trust.
