August 2016
Dear Third Grade Families,
Hello and welcome to third grade! My name is Rebekah Strohl and
I’ll be your student’s teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. I look
forward to meeting and getting to know each of you!
Please allow me to tell you a bit about myself. I grew up in
Loudoun County and have very fond memories of both the area and the
schools I attended within the community. After graduating high school, I
attended Longwood University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a
Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies K-8, specializing in science and
social studies. This is my ninth year teaching, and my eighth year
teaching third grade. We have a very busy, very exciting year ahead of us!
Third grade is a year of transition from the development of skills to
the development of independence. It is time for students to begin to
assume responsibility for their education and become life-long learners.
Your student will have ample opportunities to explore all content areas
as we prepare ourselves for the SOLs at the end of the year. It is my goal
to foster an environment within the classroom where every child feels
safe and valued. I will be contacting you throughout the year via a class
newsletter. However, if you have any questions, concerns, or comments
please feel free to contact me at the school. It is my hope that, by
working together, we can help your student succeed to best of his or her
ability.
Until we meet, please enjoy the rest
of your summer vacation!
