Language Arts:
K.1 The student will contribute appropriately and meaningfully to group
discussions.
K.2 The student will develop and expand his/her vocabulary.
K.3 The student will express ideas, thoughts, and feelings orally.
K.4 The student will produce letter sounds.
K.5 The student will understand how print is organized and read. The student will
read familiar text with accuracy.

K.7 The student will name the uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet.

K.11 The student will apply phonetic principles when writing words. The student
will write simple sentences and understand writing mechanics.
Mathematics:
K.1 The student will compare two sets containing 10 or fewer objects. The student
will add whole numbers to 10 using concrete objects.
K.2 The student will count and record sets of objects. The student will identify and
write numerals.
K.3 The student will describe the location of one object relative to another.
K.4 The student will count orally.
K.7 The student will recognize and determine the value of several coins.
K.8 The student will identify measurement tools and make comparisons.

Social Science:
K.1 The student will recognize that history describes events and people of other
times and places.

K.4, 5 The student will develop an awareness of and use simple maps and globes.
K.8 The student will demonstrate an understanding of good citizenship in the
classroom.
K.9 The student will recognize the American Flag and the Pledge of Allegiance and
know that the president is the leader of the United States.
Science:
K.1 The student will conduct investigations which involve direct observation, size
sequencing, sorting by attribute, and picture graphs.
K.8 The student will investigate and understand simple patterns in his/her daily
life.
K.9 The student will investigate and understand that change occurs over time and
rates may be fast or slow.
Health:
K.2 The student will explain the concept of being healthy.
K.6 The student will identify expectations for personal behavior in school and
social settings.
