Making a Lunch: Students can relate to the difference between what is sometimes served in the
cafeteria (nutritional but perhaps uninspiring), and a meal from their favorite restaurant.
When you are hungry, or when it is lunch time, you…
go to the refrigerator to see what’s
Pre-Writing available (sometimes you have to
go grocery shopping);
Drafting
Revising
Editing
select food (so you have a
nutritionally appealing and
palate-satisfying meal);
put the food together on a plate
(make a sandwich, cut up fruit or
vegetables); and finally
Publishing
eat the lunch.
Revisiting
After lunch, you may return to the
refrigerator for a snack or dessert
if you are still hungry (or if you
are being rewarded for exhibiting
outstanding table manners)
